Viking has launched its 2025 European river season, with its fleet of Viking Longships setting sail along Europe’s waterways, the company said in a statement.

This season, Viking is introducing seven new sister ships designed for European rivers and accommodating 190 guests or fewer. Additionally, the company is rolling out three new itineraries, alongside its popular itineraries.

Highlights of 2025 Europe itineraries include:

  • Rhine and Main Explorer (11 days; Nuremberg – Basel): Exploring southern Germany, Switzerland and France, with visits to Basel, Frankfurt and medieval towns in Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria.

  • Christmas on the Rhine and Main (11 days; Nuremberg – Basel): Experiencing the festive atmosphere of Christmas markets in Basel, Karlsruhe, Strasbourg and Nuremberg.

  • Christmastime in Paris and Normandy (eight days; roundtrip from Paris): Celebrate the holiday season in Paris and explore the Christmas markets and serene landscapes of Normandy, including the town of Rouen.

For 2026, Viking’s European river season will feature four additional ships and four new Pre and Post Extensions. The extensions, lasting three or four nights, offer Privileged Access to museums, local cuisine, vineyard visits, cooking classes and scenic train travel, with optional excursions.
